Low Voltage Switchgear (LVSG)
PROFIBUS , PROFINET
Description:
This device profiles are an agreement within a family of field devices on a uniform usage of the communication means. Thus a certain level of ability for functional cooperation between devices on the communication system can be achieved in order to minimize cost by reducing varieties in communications, control software and engineering. It is applicable to switchgear and control gear hereinafter referred to as “LVSG” (Low Voltage Switchgear) that are intended to be connected to circuits, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c.
The scope of this profiles is to guarantee the interoperability between devices of the same device class. That means that two or more devices, regardless of manufacturer, can be replaced with a similar one of a different manufacturer and that all defined applications involving the replaced device will continue to operate as before the replacement.
Beside PROFIBUS the mapping to PROFINET IO is described.
This specification covers the data structures for cyclic data exchange.
It is intended to develop further versions focusing on a-cyclic data, parameters, diagnosis and test.
